Bonnie Ohara is unlike most people you’ll ever meet. A woman with a heart of wildflowers and hands that creat magic out her own milled wheat and water. The alchemy of Alechemy Bread is something you can only experience by walking through the picket fenced yard up the concrete path littered with sidewalk chalk drawings. You’ll climb three steps up onto a porch that has held countless bouts of laughter. There you’ll get to see the beautifully cream pie safe that houses fresh loaves of bread baked to order by subscription. Bonnie’s bread makes me feel at home one slice at a time. Her chocolate chip cookies are what I look forward to on my Thursday afternoons. Oh yeah, she has a revolving menu of baked goods every week you can buy Ala Carter. You can find me hoarding my chocolate chips because every crump is precious. Hearing Bonnie’s “Hi there,” through the door is a familiar friend every-time I hear it. Not only are her wares delicious, she is a true facilitator of community.

The internet made this place appear to be a store so we headed to it off the highway. Turns out it is not. Closed. Seems to only be open off and on. Classes offered for baking it also says. No bread for us today here.

Bonnie makes magic with her ingredients to produce a loaf of bread that is both hearty and light and fluffy. You can never go wrong when you get Alchemy Bread.

The bread is not only delicious, it's also beautiful! She is only open at add special times, so be sure to check. Also...get there early! She sells out quick...it's no joke! Thankful i made it in time....Here is how I served up my treasured bread!
